Wolfe Island homeowners Edward and Gail Kenney are appealing MPAC’s market value assessment on the grounds that the 86 wind turbines on the island have substantially depressed property values, including theirs. Sadly, they are being opposed by their own municipality, which wants to protect its tax base. For cost reasons, the Kenneys are representing themselves, while the other parties are all lawyered up. MPAC has previously offered to settle, but they are pursuing this issue on principle.
