Weekly PEC wind turbine news — Mon, Sep 5, 2011

Here are current news items regarding the wind energy issue, prepared by CCSAGE and focused primarily on developments in Prince Edward County.

Gilead Ostrander Point.  Still no confirmation by MOE that the Gilead REA application is complete.  However, work was begun on the clearing of unexploded ordnance on the property — with no notice to the public.  Gilead ceased advertising on CountyLive.

Point to Point PEC Foundation.  This group continues to run full page ads focusing on protection of the natural environment in the South Shore IBA.

The County Letters.  The fifth and final of a series of ads by CCSAGE on wind energy issues was published in the Gazette and the Times.  This one was addressed to the Honourable Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario and addressed the topic of social justice.


Gilead Ostrander Point.  The circumstances regarding the start of site preparation (clearance of unexploded ordnance) are being investigated.

The County Letters.  A response by Premier McGuinty to last week’s County Letter by Garth Mannuing will be published in one or more of the County’s newpapers.
