CCSAGE fundraising dance on Feb. 8: Help save the County from wind turbines

instumentsA fundraising dance is being held Friday, February 8 at 8 pm at Waring Hall, with proceeds going to CCSAGE – the County Coalition for Safe and Appropriate Green Energy.  Admission is $15 per person.  There will be a cash bar and light refreshments.

The event will be headlined by Little Bluff – a 4-piece local band that has already garnered quite a following in the year and a half since it was formed.  Their musical style of R&B, with a twist of Soul, rootsy, bluesy Rock’n’Roll is distinctive and the crowd is up dancing in no time whenever they play!  You can hear samples of their sound at www.littlebluff.ca .

Karen Empringham, organizer for the event, says “We wanted to offer the community a chance to come out for an enjoyable evening and still support our cause. If you have not already heard the band, but heard of them, this is the perfect opportunity to see them perform and help us with fundraising to support our ongoing activity.”

In addition to the music, there will also be a silent auction and a raffle of items donated by local businesses. Please contact Karen Empringham if you you are willing to donate something to the evening’s silent auction.

The fight against industrial wind turbines has been publicly waged by a dedicated group of volunteers representing citizen’s groups and business leaders within CCSAGE.  “There is so much to be done beyond the legal challenge at Ostrander Point” says Garth Manning, Chair of CCSAGE.   There is the wpd White Pines project which may be approved within the next few months, and several more waiting in the wings.  In order to continue our work, it is necessary to raise money to fund our communications efforts within the community that we have committed to protect.”

The Waring House is offering a 50% discount for anyone who wishes to stay the night.

Don’t miss out! Contact Karen Empringham to reserve your tickets at 613-476-4060 or karenempringham@hotmail.com. Tickets will also be available at the door.  BUT reserve in advance to qualify for a special prize draw.

See you there!
