CCSAGE Art Auction FUNdraiser was a huge success

art auction1emailThe Artists for the County Art Auction held on June 7, 2013 at Karlo Estates Winery to benefit CCSAGE was a huge success! About 75 people enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and Karlo Estates wine while taking in the art “show” prior to the auction. There was a wide range of pieces available that covered most media and many different styles. In addition to artwork donated by local artists, a few well-loved pieces from private collections were offered up as well.

The art community in the County really stepped up to show their support for the continuing fight against industrial wind turbines being installed here. And the people of the County stepped up as well to support the cause. In all, 50 pieces were sold for a total of over $10,000 raised for CCSAGE.

The final piece in the auction was a framed poster of P.O. Bird, CCSAGE’s new mascot. The poster was created from a photo of a blue-gray gnatcatcher taken by Greg Barteluk at Point Traverse in 2010. The bidding on P.O. bird provided a light-hearted end to a wonderful evening.  Unframed copies of this poster (limited edition of 10) are available at $20.00 each.  Contact karenempringham@hotmail.com for more information.

Thanks to: all of the art donors, Richard Karlo and Sherry Martin of Karlo Estates Winery for providing the venue and the wine, Sandra Goldie of Oeno Gallery for acting as curator and CCSAGE organizing team of Karen Empringham, Anne Dumbrille and Jim McPherson.
