APPEC’s Tribute dinner raises thousands

The June 15 Tribute Dinner for Bill Wightman was a great social and fundraising success.  Over one hundred people filled the Grange barn with high hopes and spirits as the ERT appeal draws to a close.

The strength of APPEC’s case was evident when attendees heard a summary of the central legal argument.

The APPEC board is grateful to everyone who attended the dinner.  We especially appreciate MPP Todd Smith taking time from his busy schedule to support our cause.

Special thanks are due master of ceremonies Bob Cluett, event organizers Duncan Fischer and Libby Crombie, greeters Bernadette Fischer and Gord Gibbins, pig roaster Brian Guernsey, Bill Grieve of Wheelhouse Catering, and Caroline Granger and staff of the Grange winery.  The board is also grateful to the contributors of the auction items:  Norah and Chris Rogers, Picton Home Hardware, Bill Reddick, and Janice and Gord Gibbins.

Our great thanks to Bill Wightman for serving one more time on the frontline against wind power.  In recognition and with good humour Bill was awarded a lifetime honorary membership in APPEC.

Ticket sales, auction bids, and outright donations totalled over $16,000.  This means fundraising is now within 80 percent of the target.  As the appeal process is almost complete and the final legal bills will be coming in shortly, we need to get to 100% as soon as possible.”

Please help us spread the word quickly about the need for a fully-funded appeal.

Regards,

Henri Garand

  1. Have you heard about the Saphonian wind turbine, made by Saphon Inc. No blades to rotate, twice as efficient as rotating turbine, twice as cheap.
